a few of our favorite safaris

Bush Babies
7 Nights / 8 Days in South Africa (all ages)

For the globe-trotters out there who refuse to let parenthood prevent them from experiencing the people and places of this planet, we put you in one of the hottest spots for game viewing in South Africa. The lodge boasts all of the amenities, including childcare! You and your little ones will be delighted with the fantastic bush school/playground where they learn about animal tracks, dung identification, etc. Conclude your family’s first African adventure in Cape Town where activities, fantastic food and wine abound. Your hotel is within walking distance of the aquarium and bustling waterfront.

Little Livingstones
7 Nights / 8 Days in Zambia/Botswana (age 6+)

Acclimate in Livingstone, Zambia for a few nights to take in dramatic Victoria Falls and the many activities on and around the mighty Zambezi River.  Village visits are essential stops for your children.  Next, head into the Okavango Delta for a safari in two areas that both contrast and complement each other. The Khwai area is a great introduction to the Okavango region.  Banoka Camp is family-friendly with all of the amenities, including a pool. End your adventure by boating to Jacana Camp, which is the only way to access it most months of the year as it occupies its own island in a wetland paradise.  Your family will experience wildlife by boat, mokoro (traditional dugout canoe), and 4x4 vehicle.  The ultimate Okavango!

The African Queen
7 Nights / 8 Days in Republic of Congo

Be one of the first to experience lowland mountain gorillas and a plethora of other primates in the “other” Congo, a country entering the sustainable tourism arena. Voted “Best New Safari” by Outside Magazine and recently included on the New York Times list of "46 Places to go in 2013", these six nights in the Congo River basin will give you time for gorilla trekking, river exploration via pirogue traditional boat, giving you insight into a truly unique habitat. Accommodations are in pygmy style units in the dense, biodiverse forest canopy.

Worlds Away Pick
15 Nights / 16 Days in Zambia/Botswana/Namibia

A desert / delta combination in some of our favorite camps, which happen to have exceptional wildlife viewing and stunning landscapes.  Acclimate in Zambia, while taking in culture and wildlife in and around the Victoria Falls area.  Next, move westward for seven nights in the “Jewel of the Kalahari”, Botswana’s famed Okavango Delta.  Jacana Camp offers the quintessential Delta experience as it is sandwiched between two game viewing hot spots.  Finish big in Namibia with desert elephants and imposing, orange mountains.
